Melanie Simpson recieved a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA in 2015 with a concentration in Photography. She is in the process of finishing her Art Education Licensure. Her work has been shown in various exhibitions including Montserrat’s annual “Open House” show’s, “Methods, Media, and Ideas,” an Art Education show, and the “Viterbo, Italy,” show. She recently had an exhibition at Porter Mill Studios, curated by herself and two other colleagues, called “To Whom It May Concern.”
Melanie is an event and documentary photographer who is interested in exploring other urban forms of her field. She specializes in portraiture, engagement photographs, weddings and images of motor vehicles. Her work includes traditional black and white film as well as digital media. She has experience with street photography, documenting artwork, and gallery installations. She is extremely versatile, working on location and in the studio, capturing candids and pulling extraordinary photographs out of her memory.
